Euro Poker Review

Summary

Europoker.com is one of the larger poker sites and caters mainly, as you would expect, to the European market. It is a professionally run and very usable site, and the option of playing the game in the browser window makes it very accessible. Europoker.com is obviously designed with user satisfaction in mind, and nice touches such as feature tournaments and the option of creating your own tournament mean that there is something there that appeals to everyone.

There are a large variety of games that you can choose from, although some of these are limited to certain formats. The software is fast and reliable and provides a very usable gameplay system, with excellent stats options. At peak times there can be over 30,000 players online, so finding a game should never be a problem!

Poker Games Available

Europoker.com offers an extensive selection of cash games including Texas Holdem (no limit, pot limit and limit), Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo and 5 Card Draw with both full and short hand tables. Texas Holdem fixed limit blinds range from $0.15/0.30 right up to $500/1000 for the big spenders and no limit blinds range from $0.05/0.10 up to $50/100.

There is also a large number of tournaments, both STTs and MTTs with buy-ins starting at $1, available for you to choose from, and with over 20,000 tournament players on at busy times, you should always be able to find a table to accommodate you. However, the range of games available in tournament play is rather more limited compared to those available in cash games. MTTs tend to be geared mainly towards Texas Holdem players, and the sit-n-gos are exclusively Holdem.

You can also hone your poker skills for free by opting to play with play money. If you are using play money, you can play in ring games and tournaments, but unfortunately you are restricted to only playing Texas Holdem.

Software

The software used on Europoker.com is the same as that used by Party Poker. This is fast and reliable software, with sleek graphics and a good usability.

The lobby is very detailed, and with just a single click you can view how many people are playing on a particular table, who they are and how much money they have in front of them. It also offers details such as hands per hour, average pot size, and the % of flops seen. This is particularly useful when making effective table selections. After a recent update, lobby chat is also now available, so that when you log in you can converse with any of the online players.

The table view is very sleek and professional, with excellent graphics. Europoker.com utilises player avatars ranging from big burly men to little old ladies, which provides the player with a relaxed feel. Unfortunately, you are unable to choose your avatar in any particular game and one is just automatically assigned to you.

At the table you can view comprehensive details of all your current player stats, and you can also view recent hand histories. The quality of the stats available to you on Europoker.com is incredibly high, with not very many sites at all offering the same degree of sophistication.

One particularly interesting feature of the Europoker.com software is the ability for players to create their own private tournaments. They can choose the type of game, the buy-in and the start time.

Bonus

Europoker.com offers a sign up bonus of 50% up to a maximum bonus of $100, as well as a free tournament ticket. They also offer $20 bonus for each friend referral.

These bonuses are awarded in the form of bonus dollars. These can be converted into real money by playing real money cash games and tournaments and earning player points (PP). Every 10PP you earn converts $1 bonus dollar into $1 actual dollar.

It should be noted that you only have 60 days to redeem these bonus dollars, so you need to get playing as soon as possible!

Loyalty Programs

When you play for real money at Europoker.com, either in ring games or in tournaments, you are awarded player points (PP), which can be used to redeem bonuses and promotional offers.

In ring games you are awarded player points in any hand you play in which the rake exceeds $0.10, and the amount of player points awarded varies with the amount of the rake. For example if you play in a hand in which the rake is $0.15, you will earn 0.07PP; whereas if you play in a hand in which the rake is $4, you will earn 2.1PP.

In tournaments, 5PP are awarded for every $1 paid in entry fees. For example, if you enter a tournament for $20 + $2, the entry fee is $2 so you will earn 5x2 = 10PP.

Support

Europoker.com offers 24 hour support via email, and will respond to you in your own language (most European languages supported). There is also a website FAQ which you are advised to read before contacting support.

The response can at times be relatively slow, and the absence of a telephone help line is a definite disadvantage.
