Full Tilt Poker Review
Summary
If you want to play against the pros then Full Tilt Poker is the place to be. Stars of the game including Phil Ivey and Chris Ferguson are endorsed by Full Tilt Poker and can regularly be found playing at the higher limits tables, as well as being available to chat to players of all abilities. Full Tilt Poker works on both Mac and PC and continues to take on US players enabling it to provide a wide variety of poker games across all levels. If you haven’t already tried Full Tilt Poker then the appealing software, generous loyalty scheme, huge new player bonus and the security of playing at such and established brand make it the best place to be. Poker Games Available As you would expect from such an established poker room, Full Tilt Poker provides an extensive variety of games including Texas Holdem (no limit, pot limit, capped and fixed limit), Omaha Hi (pot limit and capped pot limit), Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud, Stud Hi/Lo and Razz. One thing you won’t find at other poker rooms is the a section of “mixed games”, recently introduced by Full Tilt Poker, where players at the same table rotate between a number of different poker games. All levels of players are catered to, from the experienced pro to the beginner looking to gain some experience. Texas Holdem fixed limit blinds start at $0.25/0.50 and continue up to $1000/2000 and no limit blinds range from $0.05 /0.10 to a staggering $500/1000! Complementing the ring games is a vast number of tournaments available in all the poker game varieties. You can play SNG’s in single table (short or full handed), multi table, satellite or heads-up format. SNG buyins range from $1+$0.25 up to $2,200 + $50 although on occasion you can buyin with a specified number of FPP’s (the loyalty point scheme operated by Full Tilt Poker). Multi table tournaments don’t come bigger than at Full Tilt Poker. Throughout the day you will find a range of tournament including, freerolls, guaranteed prize pool tournaments and satellites for which the prize can be as much as a seat in the World Series of Poker.
Software
Full Tilt Poker took the time to develop its software alongside some of the top poker professionals including, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey and Chris Ferguson. This has resulted in an easy to use intuitive piece of software that is primarily suited to the poker player. Full Tilt Poker is compatible with both the PC and Mac. The Full Tilt Poker lobby is visually appealing and displays a whole number of tabs that you can use to change between the different games (Holdem, Omaha, etc) and limits. Having selected the type of game you’re looking to play you can proceed to choose the exact table by looking at the stats provide including, the average pot size, how many hands are being played per hour (a stat some poker rooms have started to omit), the percentage of players on average seeing the flop, the number of players already at the table and the number of players waiting (no one wants to join a long queue!). Once you have selected a table you can customise the table with a number of options including the background and animations. You can also choose from a number of pre-loaded avatars; each one having a range of selectable emotions. At the table you can access the stats provided by Full Tilt Poker as well as hand histories that have a step-by-step display. You can play on up to 4 tables at the same time, which whilst some way short of several other poker rooms should be plenty for more than most. One unique feature of Full Tilt Poker is the ability to talk in scheduled chats to poker pros through the “Pro Chat” system accessible from the lobby. Bonus When you make your first deposit at Full Tilt Poker you will qualify for a new player bonus. Currently, Full Tilt Poker will match your deposit up to a maximum of $600. In order to covert the bonus into real money, from the bonus account where it is initially credited, you need to earn FPP’s by playing in ring games and tournaments. You can check how many FPP’s you have and thus how many more you need at time via the cashier window.
Loyalty Programs
Not to be outdone Full Tilt Poker operates a loyalty point scheme called Frequent Player Points (FPP’s) that are earnt by playing in ring games and tournaments. For every $1 in rake taken in ring games you will earn 1 FPP up to a maximum of 3 per hand. For every $1 you spend in entry fees to SNG’s and multi table tournaments you will earn 7 FPP with no maximum. Once you have earnt FPP’s you can use them to enter special tournaments, redeem bonuses or buy items from the Full Tilt Poker store. Items available range from baseball caps and other small things right up to widescreen plasma TVs. Support Rather disappointingly for such an established poker room no live or telephone support is provided. Although 24/7 support is provided by email and will frequently be quick and informative there is always the occasion where a problem could be better sorted by actually speaking to someone.
